Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative will showcase its five top priorities at the Capitol on Thursday, with opportunities to learn and become more active, too. The Hy-Vee Healthy You wellness bus will be stationed near the West Terrace on the Capitol grounds beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event will also feature an expo in the Statehouse with representatives from 17 Iowa businesses, non-profit organizations and county health departments. At 11:45 a.m., legislators, staff and visitors can join 2014 Healthiest State Walk Chair Terry Rich in a 15-minute “recess before lunch” indoor walk in the Statehouse. “Improving Iowa’s well-being is only possible by working together,” Healthiest State Board Chairman Ric Jurgens said in a release. “This expo gives a few of the many organizations a chance to share their work with Iowa’s legislators and demonstrate what’s possible when we all work together.”  More information is available online.
