Salvation Army reaches campaign goal
The Salvation Army in Des Moines today announced that its Red Kettle campaign exceeded its $900,000 goal this week, hitting $900,496 in total donations.
The campaign officially ended on Jan. 14 short of the goal, but officials kept the mail portion of the fundraiser open through the end of the month.
The $900,000 goal was 12 percent more than the organization raised last year.
