DART expands to Altoona Wal-Mart
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is expanding midday and weekend service to Altoona.
The existing Route 7 serves the south and east sides of Des Moines and will be extended from East 29th St. to the Altoona Walmart at 3501 Eighth St. Southwest. Service on the entire route will be upped from a 60-minute frequency to a 30-minute frequency during midday and 15-to-20 minute frequency during peak hours.
The expansion includes service on weekends, with a 60-minute frequency.
