Environmental grup 350.org, in partnership with local organizations, will host the “Moving Planet Des Moines Bike Rally” on Sept. 24.

The rally is part of a worldwide event for 350.org geared toward raising awareness for fossil fuel-free modes of transportation. The rally begins at the trails near Mullet’s Restaurant at 1300 Southeast First St., and includes a route that highlights energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy projects and public transit.

The ride starts at 11 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. To register for the ride, email Hilary Williams at hilary.dana@me.com.
