Johns to take over as East principal
The Des Moines Independent Community School District announced today that Steve Johns will be the principal at East High School.
Johns is currently vice principal and activities director at North High School. Johns started at North in 2010, and has also served as the building operations administrator as the school has been undergoing renovation.
Prior to that, he spent three years with Heartland Area Education Agency as a district partnership director and was the principal for grades seven through 12 at Williamsburg Community Schools from 1989 to 2007.
