Six counties will share more than $4.4 million to assist homeowners affected by high winds and tornadoes that hit Iowa this spring.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority is using federal Community Development Block Grant funds through the Tornado and Wind Damage Assistance Program to assist uninsured and under insured homeowners in Benton, Cherokee, Ida, Monona, Tama and Taylor counties with repairs to their homes.

Funds from the Iowa Rebate Program will also be made available to these homeowners to replace damaged appliances.
