Cownie pushes for CDBG funding
Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie is part of a delegation of mayors on Capitol Hill Wednesday to press the U.S. Senate for continued funding of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Cownie is part of a delegation sent by the U.S. Conference of Mayors to oppose proposed cuts to the 36-year-old program, which is currently funded at $3.5 billion.
