Beginning in 2011, the Young Professionals Connection (YPC) will annually recognize the achievements of one outstanding young professional in Greater Des Moines who excels in the area of community service with the Ashley Okland Community Service Award. Nominees must exemplify the core values of volunteerism, giving back and putting others before themselves as YPC’s late board member Ashley Okland did. He or she does not have to be a current member of YPC, but must be a professional under the age of 40 living in Greater Des Moines. Each year, the award recipient will receive $100 to donate to his or her charity of choice on behalf of YPC. The deadline to submit a nomination form is Nov. 18.
