Des Moines public school district adds jet to its fleet
This Thursday the Des Moines public schools’ aviation engineering technology program, which is part of the Career & Technical Institute at Central Campus, will receive a Learjet Model 35.
The FAA-certified program is one of four in the nation and the only one in the Midwest to have a small fleet of aircraft to train students.
From 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, the aviation engineering technology program will hold an event at its laboratory facility, located on the north side of the Des Moines airport at 2610 McKinley Ave. Sen. Charles Grassley is expected to attend.
