Additional city budget forums scheduled
Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie and City Manager Richard Clark will host two additional resident forums to gather input on the city’s budgeting priorities. A Community Enrichment Forum will be held tonight at 6 p.m. to discuss the budgets for the Parks and Recreation Department, Human Rights Commission and the Public Library. A Public Safety Forum is scheduled Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. to discuss police and fire department budget priorities. Both meetings will be held at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, 909 Robert Ray Drive, in the Willow and Oak rooms. Opportunities for residents to submit ideas and provide their thoughts on budget priorities will also be available on the city website during the next few months at www.dmgov.org.
