Pinnacle pilots to picket
Pilots who fly for Pinnacle Airlines Corp. plan to picket the company’s corporate headquarters in Memphis, Tenn., Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m., the Memphis Business Journal reported. The pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association International (ALPA), want to call attention to Pinnacle management’s failure to pay its pilots, according to a statement. “Our pilots are experiencing widespread delays in pay, along with unprecedented numbers of payroll errors,” Tom Wychor, chairman of the Pinnacle Airlines arm of ALPA, said in a statement. ALPA, which represents almost 3,000 pilots who fly for Pinnacle, represents more than 53,000 pilots at 37 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. The airline’s holding company and its subsidiaries recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
