Ben Hildebrandt will leave the Iowa chapter of the American Institute of Architects on July 27 and go work the following Monday as the first business development director for Belin McCormick P.C., one of Greater Des Moines’ oldest and most prestigious law firms. 

Steven Zumbach, an attorney with Belin, said the firm created the position in order to more aggressively market the firm and its range of services in an increasingly competitive local and national market. 

“I’m always ready to look at the world in a new way,” Zumbach said. Hildebrandt noted that Belin is well known and highly regarded by people who are age 40 and older, but that the name might not come readily to mind among those age 35 and younger.  

Belin is “thinking about the future of this prestigious firm,” said Hildebrandt, who was executive director of the Iowa architect’s group and has worked as a marketing and communications director for the Iowa Bankers Association.
