Civic Center generates $31 million
The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines announced yesterday that its 2011-2012 Broadway series brought in more than 150,000 people and had a $31 million economic impact on the city of Des Moines.
The Civic Center generated $8.8 million in revenue, according to a release.
The season was highlighted by the return of “Wicked,” “West Side Story” and the national tour launch of La Cage aux Folles. Next year, the Civic Center has booked “Les Miserables,” “War Horse,” “The Book of Mormon,” “Jekyll & Hyde” and “Million Dollar Quartet,” according to a release.
