Aviva plc, the United Kingdom’s second-largest insurer, announced yesterday that Andrew Moss has quit as CEO after presiding over an almost 60 percent fall in the company’s share price in the last five years, Bloomberg reported.

Aviva’s incoming chairman, John McFarlane, will immediately become interim executive deputy chairman, Aviva said in a statement.

Moss is the third British CEO to resign in recent weeks following shareholder outrage at executive salaries. Aviva plc is the parent company of West Des Moines-based Aviva USA.
