A popular Texas-based sports bar and restaurant chain has opened its first Iowa location in West Des Moines.

Twin Peaks, a hunting-lodge-themed bar and grill featuring a similar concept to Hooter’s restaurants, is now open at 4570 University Ave.

Businessman Greg Cutchall, principal of Cutchall Management Co., said in a release that he learned of the franchise while in Dallas, and then decided to open a restaurant in Omaha last year. Cutchall then moved to West Des Moines, and said if business goes well, he plans to expand to other Iowa cities.
