Her ardor for excellence took her to Grinnell College, where she graduated with honors, and today, Pawlosky, a partner with the Dickinson, Mackaman, Tyler & Hagen P.C. law firm, continues to stand out.

Last year, the attorney was named one of Iowa’s leading lawyers in the field of commercial litigation by Chambers and Partners, the publisher of one of the most prestigious directories in the legal profession.

With that recognition, she became one of the youngest lawyers, and one of only two women out of 46 Iowa commercial litigators, to earn a spot in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

“I never wavered in terms of what I wanted to do,” Pawlosky said of her line of work, adding that she knew from the age of 8 that she was going to be a lawyer.

Pawlosky’s many accomplishments include working for a large, well-respected law firm in Chicago, where she managed what was at the time one of the largest litigation matters to be handled out of that office. Her fluency in Spanish also helped her in pro bono immigration matters, in which she represented refugees who claimed they fled to the United States from persecution and torture in their countries of origin.

Returning to Des Moines with her husband Joe in 2002, Pawlosky continued to excel.

In 2008, she handled a multimillion-dollar class-action jury trial that made headlines in Polk County.

In 2009, she received the highest possible Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Going back to her roots, Pawlosky sits on the board of directors of the East High School Alumni Association Foundation and is co-chair of the foundation’s scholarship committee. In that role, she helps oversee nearly $2 million of assets, intended to make the academic aspirations of deserving East High students a reality.

“Mollie works tirelessly to match scholarship funds with students wishing to further their educational pursuits,” wrote East High School Principal Mike Zelenovich. “Without Mollie, this program would suffer.”

In 2012, Pawlosky will serve as president of the East High School Alumni Association.
