Iowa’s charter school laws rank among the worst in the nation, according to a report by the advocacy group Center for Education Reform.

The group’s 2013 Charter School Laws Across the States Ranking and Scorecard report gives Iowa an F grade, ranking it as the third-worst among the nation’s 43 charter-school laws.

Iowa was one of only four states to earn an F, but the center asserts that “state laws simply must improve to ensure growth and sustainability,” as only four states earned A grades and nine earned B grades. For more information on the report’s comments about Iowa, click here.
