The nation's eight largest airlines are poised to report $3.95 billion in profits in fourth-quarter earnings reports, according to industry analyst website AirlineFinancials.com. That would be the largest profit in a decade.

United Continental Holdings Inc. is projected to report the highest net profit at $1.5 billion, followed closely by Delta Air Lines Inc. with $1.4 billion.
