Rona (pronounced rah-nah) Berinobis had worked for nearly 18 years in sales with Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield before she was named the company’s director of workforce inclusion in 2008. On Jan. 1, she began a two-year term as chairwoman of the Greater Des Moines Diversity Council.
