The Center on Sustainable Communities, Metro Waste Authority and Greater Des Moines Partnership will honor five organizations and one individual with the Environmental Impact Awards at a luncheon on May 18. The program will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Des Moines Botanical Center. Winners in the Built Environment Category are Iowa Home Crafters for residential and BNIM Architects for commercial. Winners in the Business Category are RDG Planning & Design for small business and Principal Financial Group Inc. for large business. The winners in the Individual and Civic categories are Brad Gerndt and Agriculture’s Clean Water Alliance, respectively.
