Wilke-Shapiro joins Silent Rivers

Steve Wilke-Shapiro has joined Silent Rivers Inc., where he will work to incorporate energy-efficient designs and sustainable building practices into the rehabilitation of historic commercial and residential buildings. The restoration designer will begin by helping Silent Rivers kick off the construction phase of its Indigo Dawn LLC project in Sherman Hill. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Wilke-Shapiro’s prior experience includes work with Neighborhood Finance Corp., as well as Fendler and Associates Inc. and HPD Cambridge Inc. in St. Louis. Wilke-Shapiro founded the Des Moines Rehabbers Club in 2007. In September 2009, he opened reNew Design Studio in Des Moines. He said that company’s closing coincided with the March 21 start of his new job.
