Airport receives runway grant
Sen. Tom Harkin announced yesterday that the city of Des Moines will receive $2.3 million to improve infrastructure at Des Moines International Airport.
The grant will provide funding for the acquisition of land to develop a new runway, which has been part of the airport’s plan since 2001 and is now moving to the design stage.
The grant was made available by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
