Effective June 30, 2010, the company will close its mail processing operation facility in Red Oak, Iowa, affecting just under 200 full-time, part-time and temporary employees. All functions will be moved to Harlan and Boone, two of our existing Iowa sites. This restructure also includes the reduction of approximately 70 positions in the company’s Des Moines facility. The company will be offering severance and outplacement services to these employees to help assist in their transition. CDS Global maintains 14 operating locations in the U.S. and around the world.

“Over the past two years CDS Global has been transforming its business due to the digital revolution,” said Malcolm Netburn, chairman and CEO. “These steps are a reflection of that transformation. Our employees’ commitment to excellence has shaped this company’s success and will continue to be the foundation for future growth. This was a difficult decision due to the loss of valued CDS Global employees.”

Netburn continued to say, “The past 24 months have significantly changed the way our clients run their business, many of which are moving to digital platforms, consolidating business functions and shutting down properties. CDS Global must also change to support these initiatives and to be a vital partner in our clients’ future. The restructure will ensure that company resources are focused on new product development and technological advances as our industries served require digital and e-commerce outsourced solutions.”

In addition, CDS Global is restructuring several areas throughout the organization to support client business needs. This includes the creation of a product management group of approximately 25 employees. This team, comprised of internal and external talent, will provide the organization with the ability to develop quality products, increase the company’s speed to market and ensure that CDS Global remains industry diversified. Furthermore, CDS Global will be investing heavily in new technologies and e-commerce services. Together these changes support CDS Global’s vision of meeting clients’ current and emerging needs for world-class business outsource services.
