I very rarely talk tech in this column. It’s not that I don’t believe it’s important. It’s just that I don’t think marketing is about technology; it’s about people. But, no doubt about it, technology helps every marketer out there to connect with their customers.

That’s why I want to tell you about www.wufoo.com.

We talk about conversation and the need to provide feedback mechanisms for our readers, clients and prospects. But how do we make that happen? Wufoo.

On just about every website known to man today, there are forms. They could be for just about anything:

Event Registration

Contact Us

Customer Delight survey

Employee Application

Post Topic Suggestions

Speaking Requests

You name it!

A couple of years ago, we were in search of a way to create a form that actually worked in all the different browsers and let us (or our clients who have no technical background or skills) modify the form on the fly. That’s when I stumbled onto Wufoo.com.

It’s so user-friendly a sixth-grader could do it. You create the form by clicking on different options and keying in a few details. We created our Contact Us form and had it on our site in less than 15 minutes.

Wufoo.com has a free version that is probably robust enough for many of your needs. There’s also a subscription version for more complex forms.

And when I edit the form on Wufoo.com, it automatically edits the form on my site. So you never have to swap out the code. Who doesn’t love that timesaver?
