CGS Tires receives funds for Charles City plant
Officials from CGS Tires U.S. Inc. joined Iowa Gov. Chet Culver this morning in a signing ceremony for a $924,000 economic development award to the company for its new tire manufacturing facility in Charles City. The Grow Iowa Values Fund award will support 154 of the 192 jobs to be created at the agricultural and industrial tire manufacturing facility, which will be the first North American factory for CGS, which is based in the Czech Republic. Culver and company officials signed the agreement at the Farm Progress Show in Boone.
