On Sept. 18, architects, intern architects, architectural students and others will take part in “Architecture for Humanity,” an event intended to support Habitat for Humanity chapters in Des Moines, Iowa City and Sioux City. In Cedar Rapids, the event will take place in on Sept. 11. The Iowa chapter of the American Institute of Architects said this is the seventh consecutive year that its Emerging Professionals are supporting the event. “This is a wonderful event for a great cause,” said event coordinator John Gabrielson. “It’s an excellent opportunity for the members of the architecture community to showcase their commitment to their communities and have a fun time doing it.” For more information, e-mail Jessica Reinert at jreinert@aiaiowa.org.
