The Des Moines Rehabbers Club is seeking nominations for its “Most Endangered Buildings” list. This is the third year the club has put together the list, which is intended to inspire discussions about the importance of historic buildings and to promote renovation as a viable option. Neighborhood groups, individuals and businesses are encouraged to go to http://renovatedsm.com to submit nominations for buildings in danger of demolition or neglect. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 8. Online voting will take place Oct. 11-25. “Historic buildings are resilient,” said Des Moines Rehabbers Club organizer Steve Wilke-Shapiro. “Too often, they are demolished for reasons other than their actual physical condition.”
