An Iowa Department of Transportation bridge project in Council Bluffs is one of 10 finalists selected to compete in a national competition.

The 24^th Street bridge project is competing for the title of 2010 Best Transportation Project in America’s Transportation Awards. The project is competing in the People’s Choice Award and National Grand Prize categories, which each carry a $10,000 prize.

The Council Bluffs bridge is the first in a series of efforts to improve capacity of the interstate system in the area, a news release said.
