Iowa receives $3.5 million broadband grant

Iowa will expand its efforts to improve high-speed Internet service across the state with the help of a new federal grant of $3.5 million. Connect Iowa announced Tuesday it was awarded the funds as part of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s State Broadband Data and Development grant program. Connect Iowa is a partnership between the Iowa Utilities Board, the Iowa Broadband Deployment Governance Board and Connected Nation, a national nonprofit organization, seeking to facilitate more broadband availability and use in Iowa.
