Gov. Chet Culver announced yesterday that 17 companies plan to add a total of 300 new jobs across Iowa after receiving awards from the Iowa Department of Economic Development. Four Greater Des Moines companies — Dice Career Solutions, Sysco Iowa, Canvis LLC and Your Game Now — were among the award recipients. Dice, which was awarded $225,000 through the Grow Iowa Values Financial Assistance Program, plans to build a 34,770-square-foot facility in Urbandale, creating six new jobs. Tax incentives awarded to Sysco through the High Quality Jobs program will help the Ankeny-based company construct a $4.7 million facility. West Des Moines-based Canvis will use its $50,000 award from the Iowa Demonstration Fund to help expand its presence in the marketplace as it works to extend its product line. Clive-based Your Game Now, which provides video coverage for 18 schools and more than 1,200 games, was awarded $75,000 from the Iowa Demonstration Fund to expand existing production methods across the state.
