The River Bend Neighborhood Association will host its 25th annual home tour on Sept. 23 and 24. The tour will allow community members to see some of the district’s homes, many of which date back to the 1870s, as well as farms and businesses. This year’s event will include a self-guided tour of 12 homes, including ones that are new to the tour this year or haven’t been part of the tour for several years. Visitors will also have an opportunity to learn about new developments in the neighborhood and see demonstrations at three of the properties. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online or on the day of the event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is available in the east parking lot of Moulton Elementary School at 1541 Eighth St. in Des Moines.
