Des Moines Area Community College has hired Erin Lee Schneider to serve as dean of student success and urban student services. Schneider, an Iowa attorney, will work at the DMACC Urban/Des Moines Campus. She most recently served for seven years as the assistant dean for student services at Drake University Law School. She previously served as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Story County, executive director of the literacy and mentoring program Everybody Wins! Iowa and as a staff assistant and caseworker for former U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin. Schneider currently serves on the Attorney Grievance Commission and has been active in the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals. She has previously served on the National Advisory Council for Equal Justice Works and as the president of the Story County Bar Association. Schneider was also previously recognized as a Business Record Forty Under 40 in 2012.
