Residents of all ages can join an interactive public input meeting at Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Road, on Thursday. Community members can also provide feedback in an online survey until Nov. 30. Input gathered through the two forums will be used in the feasibility study, which Waters Edge Aquatic Design will provide to the city of Waukee. The study is assessing market demand, community support and estimated costs of development. “This assessment will give us a good understanding of what an outdoor aquatic center project would look like from design concept to cost estimate,” Matt Jermier, Waukee parks and recreation director, said in a prepared statement. If the project moves forward, a referendum would be put on the ballot for voter approval.
