Holmes Murphy, an independent insurance brokerage headquartered in Waukee, has made a financial commitment to the Vaughan Institute for Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie College of Business. Holmes Murphy did not disclose the amount of the contribution. The contribution will aid in preparing students for accelerated careers and leadership roles in the insurance and risk management industry. The Vaughan Institute of Risk Management and Insurance, which launched a new undergraduate major in 2023, aims to develop professionals for a sector that constitutes 11% of Iowa’s GDP and employs over 60,000 Iowans.
