The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will recognize National Small Business Week the week of April 28 to May 4. On April 30 and May 1 the SBA will hold the 2024 National Small Business Week Virtual Summit, which is now open for registration. The two-day online event will feature educational workshops, access to federal resources, and networking opportunities. A detailed agenda and list of speakers will be published at a later date. Attendance is free, but registration is required. The SBA will also honor the National Small Business Week 2024 Award winners on April 28 and 29 in Washington D.C. This year’s Iowa Small Business Person of the Year, is Cathy Bishop, president of Aggies Inc., a catering company in Sergeant Bluff. Bishop started the company in 1994 as a restaurant, and pivoted to catering full time in 2009.
