Colorado-based entity acquires apartment properties in Des Moines

 A limited liability company located in Denver, Colo., has acquired two apartment complexes on Des Moines’ south side, Polk County real estate records show.

211 E McKinley LLC paid Kenwood Apartments LLC $7.77 million for the apartment properties, one at 211 E. McKinley Ave. (pictured) and the other at 530 E. Kenyon Ave.

The property at 211 E. McKinley includes two three-story buildings, each with 24 units. The property, which includes 2.3 acres, is valued at just over $3 million.

The property at 530 E. Kenyon also includes two three-story buildings, each with 30 units. The property is valued at $3.7 million.

Construction of the four apartment buildings was completed in 1991.

The transaction was recorded March 25.

In other transactions:

Canyon Landing Owner LLC, based in Des Moines, paid DHIR Iowa I LLC just over $17 million for over 80 townhome lots in the Canyon Landing development in northeast Ankeny, records show. The transaction was recorded March 29.

DRA Properties LC, located in Ankeny, paid Edna Todd $1.3 million for property at 2225 N.E. 36th St. in Ankeny, records show. The nearly 1-acre residential lot includes a 2,499-square-foot house that was built in 1984. The property is valued at $375,100. In a related transaction, DRA Properties LC, owned and managed by entrepreneur Dennis Albaugh, also acquired nearly 10 acres, located adjacent to the west side of the residential property. DRA Properties paid Todd’s Flying Service Inc. $3.1 million for the semi-improved property. DRA Properties also owns 43 acres just west of the newly acquired properties. The transactions were recorded in late March.
