Central Iowa Shelter and Services honors 3 supporters of homelessness work

117 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyCentral Iowa Shelter and Services is hosting its annual Heroes for Homeless fundraising event on May 2 at the Hilton Downtown Des Moines. This event will recognize three community supporters of those experiencing homelessness: Iowa Total Care, for its philanthropic contributions to Central Iowa Shelter and Services’ initiatives through the Centene Foundation; St. John’s Lutheran Church, for supporting Central Iowa Shelter and Services’ community kitchen; and Bob Stewart, for his support as a volunteer in the greater Des Moines community. According to a news release, the event will also feature an exclusive unveiling of a new project from Central Iowa Shelter and Services aimed at ending homelessness and providing resources.
