Pappajohns’ Des Moines home sold for $1.37 million

416 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentA limited liability company has acquired the former Des Moines home of philanthropists John and Mary Pappajohn, Polk County real estate records show. 24 Foster LLC paid the John Pappajohn Revocable Trust $1.37 million for the residential property at 24 Foster Drive (photo at right) in Des Moines. The two-story, single-family house, built in 1923, includes 4,377 square feet of living space. The property, which includes 1.36 acres, is valued at $1.15 million. John Pappajohn, a venture capitalist, died in April of 2023 at the age of 94. Mary Pappajohn was 88 when she died in March 2022. The couple donated millions of dollars to projects at the University of Iowa, Des Moines and elsewhere. Their most visual donation is the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines’ downtown. The real estate transaction involving the couple’s former home was recorded June 3.
A&A Realty Group LLC, based in Marco Island, Fla., paid Dale and Mary Beth Day $1.62 million for property at 12200 Meredith Drive in Urbandale, records show. The property includes 5.5 acres of undeveloped land. The transaction was recorded June 3.
Clive Industrial Partners, located in West Des Moines, paid Aces Up Properties LLC $2.4 million for property at 9289 Swanson Blvd. in Clive, records show. The 3-acre parcel includes a 30,240-square-foot metal office/warehouse built in 1987. It also includes several large garages. The property is valued at $1.67 million. The transaction was recorded June 3.
Gerald Patterson Jr. and Colleen Patterson paid Steve and Tiffini Garman $1.1 million for property at 1259 Tulip Tree Lane in West Des Moines, records show. The one-story, 2,259-square-foot house was built in 2012. The transaction was recorded June 3.
Prairie Winds Apartments LLC, based in Brooklyn, N.Y., paid Des Moines Leased Housing Associates VII LP $4.5 million for property at 2201 E. Park Ave. in Des Moines, records show. The 3.2-acre parcel includes a 72-unit apartment complex known locally as Lancaster Place Apartments. The transaction was recorded June 5.
Stanbrough Residential LLC, located in Urbandale, paid Carver Investments LLC $500,000 for property at 7511 Dennis Drive in Urbandale, records show. The property, valued at $626,000, includes a two-story, eight-unit apartment building constructed in 1966. The transaction was recorded June 5.
Trident Hospitality LLC, located in Urbandale, paid Double Tuna LLC $1.85 million for property at 410 E. 30th St. in Des Moines, records show. The nearly 1.5-acre parcel includes a three-story EconoLodge built in 2007. The hotel, located just west of the Iowa State Fairgrounds, includes 69 rooms. The property is valued at $2.14 million. The transaction was recorded June 6.
