The Iowa Insurance Institute is donating $10,000 to the American Red Cross in Iowa as the state recovers from damage caused by recent tornadoes and floods. The contribution supports the cleanup and rebuilding efforts led by the Red Cross after a tornado hit Greenfield in May and 18 inches of rain caused flooding in northwest Iowa last month. “Many people are currently filing insurance claims and are concerned about covering repair costs. The Iowa Insurance Institute is committed to providing support during these times,” said Aaron Pearce, president of the Iowa Insurance Institute, in a prepared statement. “The Red Cross provides immediate relief after disasters, and that’s when people need it the most.”
