Volunteers completed almost 50 projects in Central Iowa as part of United Way of Central Iowa’s Day of Action in early September, according to a news release. More than 575 volunteers worked in support of 20 organizations for the annual initiative, United Way said. “United Way of Central Iowa has organized Day of Action for over 30 years, and it continues to be a cornerstone initiative for both our organization and the community,” Mary Sellers, president of United Way of Central Iowa, said in a prepared statement.
