Common Sense Institute Iowa names Lisa Feuerbach executive director

Nonpartisan think tank Common Sense Institute Iowa has named Lisa Feuerbach as its executive director. Feuerbach, an Iowa native and former chief U.S. probation officer in the Northern District of Iowa, will officially begin her role in January 2025, according to a news release. CSI Iowa formed in January based off model chapters in Arizona, Oregon and Colorado. The research organization says it’s “dedicated to the protection and promotion of Iowa’s economy,” and commissions studies to evaluate the potential impact of proposed public policies on jobs and the economy in the state of Iowa. “I am thrilled to join the CSI team,” Feuerbach said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to getting real about the challenges facing our state and expanding CSI’s capacity to deliver innovative policy solutions and sound fiscal analysis that both benefits Iowans and inspires states across the country.” CSI Iowa board Secretary Amber Mason Lusson said Feuerbach’s “unique experience and credibility in the federal judiciary coupled with her ability to build outstanding teams has been recognized throughout the nation and will be a benefit for CSI Iowa.”
