2 Iowa school districts selected for Department of Energy program

114 wordsAll Latest News, Education, EnergyDes Moines Public Schools and Davis County Community School District in southeastern Iowa have been selected to participate in the 2024-2025 Energy Champions Leading the Advancement of Sustainable Schools (CLASS) program, which promotes building and energy management in school districts, according to its website. The Iowa school districts were among the 60 local educational agencies selected for the 2024-2025 program. A press release said the school districts will receive training, coaching and expert guidance to develop and execute projects prioritizing energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption and improved indoor air quality. Participants were chosen based on applications that demonstrated dedication to creating impactful or scalable energy plans and sustainability goals, the release said.
