Anawim Housing is looking for volunteers and donations to help it prepare for the opening of the Monarch Apartments, a permanent supportive housing apartment complex located in Des Moines. Volunteers will help assemble and move furniture, set up rooms and lightly clean units. Volunteer opportunities are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 22-28. To donate items to help furnish the 40 units at the Monarch Apartments, view their Amazon Wishlist here. The apartments, which include 24-hour on-site support services and staff, will house people experiencing homelessness referred to Anawim Housing by Centralized Intake at Primary Health Care Iowa.
