Iowa Pork Producers Association announces 2025 Iowa Pork Youth Leadership Team

161 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyThe Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) announced Amanda Ostrem, Calla Langel and Brady Allan as the members of the 2025 Iowa Pork Youth Leadership Team. Ostrem, a sophomore at Des Moines Area Community College, was crowned the 2025 Iowa pork queen, while Langel and Allan, of Le Mars, were named Iowa pork ambassadors The three were selected during the Iowa Pork Congress on Jan. 22 and 23 in Des Moines and will represent the pork industry throughout the year, promoting pork production. The IPPA Youth Leadership Team contest evaluates participants based on a variety of criteria, including a written test on pork industry topics, individual interviews and presentations. Each member selected receives a $4,000 scholarship and a commemorative plaque recognizing their achievement. Throughout 2025, the Youth Leadership Team will participate in events including county fairs, community activities, the Iowa State Fair and the World Pork Expo. The IPPA recognized eight other contestants who received $200 scholarships for their participation.
