The Des Moines Heritage Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving historic buildings in the Des Moines metro area, will hold its first historic preservation awards dinner at 5 p.m. on May 15 at the Des Moines Heritage Center. According to a news release, the awards dinner will honor individuals and recent projects that have contributed to the preservation of Central Iowa’s historic heritage. Award winners will be announced in early May.
Award categories include:

• Historic preservation champion
• Hall of Fame inductee
• Commercial projects
• Residential project
• Adaptive reuse project
• Public project
• Special project
