11 organizations, leaders receive awards at 2025 Iowa Tourism Conference

The Iowa Tourism Office presented 11 awards recognizing excellence in the tourism industry during the 2025 Iowa Tourism Conference Thursday in Altoona. In addition, conference attendees voted for the People’s Choice Award. The three winners of the Iowa Tourism Legacy Award are Greg Edwards, who recently announced his upcoming retirement from Catch Des Moines this summer, Rod Marlatt with the Fayette County Conservation Board, and Wes Ehrecke of the Iowa Gaming Association. ChildServe in Johnston and Siouxland Sports Academy in Sioux City were recognized with the Champions of Iowa Tourism Award.

Other award recipients are:

  • Outstanding Marketing Collaboration: Jefferson Matters and the Greene County Historical Society, Jefferson
  • Innovation in Marketing: My County Parks
  • Outstanding Niche Marketing Campaign: American State Bank Sports Complex, Sioux Center
  • Outstanding Marketing Campaign (marketing budget less than $50,000): city of Manning
  • Outstanding Marketing Campaign (marketing budget greater than $50,000): Iowa State Fair
  • People’s Choice Award: Visit Quad Cities – tourism accessibility efforts
