A grand opening event is planned at Hubbell Realty Co.’s newest senior living community – Edencrest at Pleasant Hill.

The community is the ninth completed in Hubbell’s series of senior living communities.

Edencrest at Pleasant Hill, 6151 Martha Miller Drive, includes 70 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments; 44 assisted living units; and 26 memory care units. On-site amenities include fitness centers, a general store, a barber shop, a spa and several gathering spaces for residents.

The facility, which cost $17 million to develop, is managed by Hubbell’s Highmark Senior Living property management division.

“When we look at this neighborhood in Pleasant Hill, it’s truly an opportunity to age in place,” Jed Gines, director of operations for Highmark Senior Living, said in a news release. “We know how important it is for Iowans to live close to their family, friends and loved ones and this Edencrest is yet another great example of an opportunity to do that.”

Hubbell operates two Edencrest facilities in Des Moines, and one each in Johnston, Waukee, Norwalk, Ankeny, Urbandale and Altoona. Edencrest at Adel is expected to open this summer.

A grand opening celebration is planned at Edencrest at Pleasant from 4 to 7 p.m. April 3. The celebration is open to the public.
