161 wordsBusiness Record Insider, The Insider NotebookYou could say Jay Byers has been dealt some pretty good cards already. But the CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and musician has co-founded Byers Market LLC, which is trying to raise money for a new card game called DeckPerception.
The game was originally developed by longtime Iowa teacher Robert Byers to teach adults, middle school students and high school students and their families about probability, logic and problem-solving, He died before he could market the game.
Players use their powers of perception and deduction to guess about their card, which they can’t see but other players can.
Byers and his partners, Boyd and Evan Byers of Wichita, have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the product.
The crowdfund will be open through Dec. 4. A portion of every game pledge will be donated to the Robert E. Byers Keep Iowa Beautiful Environmental Scholarship Fund.
The game is designed for three to four players age 12 and up.
