The Opus Group will design and build Iowa National Guard buildings in Sioux City and Davenport, according to a release. The Sioux City project calls for a 37,000-square-foot building at the Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Refueling Wing air base. It will include administrative offices, a dining hall, a medical clinic, a kitchen and training rooms. An 87,000-square-foot building is planned for the Iowa Army National Guard on 37 acres in Davenport. It will include an assembly hall, offices, classrooms, a physical fitness area, a kitchen and vehicle work bays. Construction will begin in spring 2018 with completion slated for spring 2019. Both structures will be designed to meet the latest anti-terrorism force protection standards and LEED Silver certification; they will include high-efficiency mechanical systems and LED lighting.
