The Dana Co., a Des Moines-based independent insurance agency, has named Cory Holland as president and CEO, effective Jan. 1. Dana Ramundt, who founded the agency in 1989, will move from his present role as president and CEO to chairman. “It has been important to me that my clients know that I am still involved in the company,” Ramundt said in a release. “Selecting a leader to replace yourself is not only important but difficult. Preserving and promoting our core values to the organization and even more importantly to clients. Cory and I have been working closely on growing the business and this transition for a half a dozen years.” A native of Eldora, Ramundt has been a thought leader and innovator in the insurance industry for more than 45 years. He was inducted last year into the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame. Holland, a 1992 graduate of Central College, has worked in the agency for the past 17 years and is currently vice president; he became a stockholder in 2010. “The opportunity to lead an organization that has had only one previous owner in its history is an honor,” Holland said.
